In contrast to many other Alpine valleys, the Brixental valley does not end in a valley head, but is open on both sides. It connects the Inntal valley in the west with the Kitzbühel region in the east. The charming village of Brixen im Thale is nestled in gentle grassy mountains with extensive alpine pastures in the middle of Brixental Valley, approx. 10 minutes by car from the famous town of Kitzbühel. In summer, it is the perfect starting point for hikes and bike tours. The village is also part of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental ski area, which promises unlimited skiing fun in winter.
Today, Brixen im Thale has made a name for itself with family-run hotels, cosy guesthouses, traditional inns, holiday flats in every category and "farm holidays". There is also a spacious campsite in a central location.
